The Engineering Division is responsible for a wide variety of services. Those relating most directly to business activity in the city include:

• Reviewing site plans and making recommendations to the Board of Adjustment and to the Planning Board
  
• Inspecting sites to ensure compliance with approved plans
  
• Coordinating environmental cleanup projects with City, State, and Federal authorities
  
• Reviewing and processing New Jersey Sewer Extension Permit applications
  
• Providing technical input and acceptance of infrastruture improvement projects by private parties
  
• Calculating developer's contribution for off-tract infrastructure improvements
  
• Updating and maintaining the City Tax map
  
• Providing technical advice to developers
