JERSEY CITY - Students in the city's first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course will participate in a practice drill to culminate their 20-hour training at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at the Office of Emergency Management, 715 Summit Avenue.

The drill is the final part of a 4-day seminar in which the class of approximately 20 local residents received hands-on and in-the-field training, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations to prepare them to respond to a wide range of emergencies.

Students and instructors will be on hand to answer questions about the CERT class.

Spanish-speaking state and local officials will be on hand to answer questions for the Spanish-language media.
