JERSEY CITY- Mayor L. Harvey Smith and the top brass of the Jersey City Police Department will welcome the new class of police recruit during orientation 10 am Friday, October 29, 2004 at the Army base at Caven Point Field.
The class of 44 officers will go through 15 weeks of training at the academy. They are part of the anticipated hiring of 80 new officers in the next few weeks.///
