JERSEY CITY-Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham will receive a $200,000 grant
from the Housing Authority Director Troy Washington, 11 a.m. Wednesday March
10, 2004 at City Hall, 280 Grove Street.
The grant or PILOT is a percentage of the profit the Housing Authority made in the
last year. The authority, which does not pay taxes, agrees to pay the municipality
10 percent of its profit. This is th first such payment Jersey city has received from
the Housing Authority.
"The Housing Authority, under the management of Mr. Washington has already
in a short time found a way to give credibility to the PILOT Program by
reimbursing the City much needed revenue," Cunningham said.
Mr. Washington will present Cunningham with an oversized check for a photo
opportunity.////
