Mayor Cunningham Honored Fallen Dispatcher
Street Renamed for “Joe”

JERSEY CITY- Mayor Cunningham will rename a city street after a city dispatcher who was killed on “September 11" during ceremonies 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the corner Bay street between Newark Avenue and Erie Street.

Bay Street will also become known as Joseph Lovero Way, a lasting tribute to a Jersey City Fire Department dispatcher killed by falling debris when the World Trade Center Tower collapsed on September 11, 2001. Lovero responded to Ground Zero with a number of Jersey City Firefighters as first responders after the terrorist attack began./////
