JERSEY CITY- Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham will head to Trenton Wednesday, May 14, 2003 to speak before the State Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee to challenge the 80 percent in cuts in aid to the city.
Last year Jersey City, a designated Distressed City, received $10.4 million in State aid. This year Jersey City was told it would receive only $2 million, half the amount significantly smaller distressed cities in the state would receive.
“Jersey City has been short-changed and if our legislators won’t represent and fight for Jersey City’s interests while in Trenton, I will before the committee,” Cunningham said.
Open hearings begin 9:30a.m. at the State House Annex.///
