Public Auction, 07/15/03

List of Vehicles

Pursuant to resolution, adopted by the Municipal Court of the city of Jersey City, New Jersey on June 1 st., 1971 ... Take notice that the undersigned shall expose for sale in accordance with n.j.r.s.39:10-et.seq., (approved may 22.1964 effective sixty days thereafter) at public auction on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 10:00 am, at the Jersey City Incinerator Authority, 501 route 440, Jersey City, New Jersey 07305. Vehicles may be inspected at the Jersey City Police car pound, east end of Communipaw Avenue, foot of Phillips Street on Monday, July 14, 2003 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.the below described motor vehicles which came into the possession of the police department of the city of Jersey City through the abandonment or failure of owners to claim same and other vehicles.

Take further notice, all vehicles are in a used condition, may be operable, parts may be missing and repairs may be required. Also, defects other than those exposed to view may exist. Property is offered as is, successful bidder of vehicles(s) must return license plates to the main office before removing the vehicle(s) from police car pound. Minimum bid shall start at seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each vehicle being auctioned individually with ten dollar ($10.00) increments. Minimum bulk bid shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per vehicle. However, the purchasing agent may accept a lesser sum at his discretion. In addition to the amount bid by the successful bidder an additional fee of two dollars ($2.00) for a junk title certificate shall be charged for each vehicle being auctioned.

Case no. 46569 thru and including case no. 54040 will be sold as a "bulk bid only" such public sale shall be conducted as follows: <0L type=A>

  • The purchasing agent shall first offer the entire list of such public vehicles for sale in bulk to the highest bulk bidder thereof.

  • After the bulk bidding is completed the purchasing agent shall then offer each of such vehicles to the highest bidder on an individual basis.

  • After foresaid bidding is completed if the amount of the bulk bidder exceeds the total amount of the individual bids then the purchasing agent shall sell all of the vehicles in bulk to the highest bulk bidder if the total of the individual bids shall exceed the bulk bidder then the purchasing agent shall sell the individual vehicles to the highest bidder of each individual vehicle.

  • In the event there are vehicles upon which no bid is made. The purchasing agent will offer all those unsold vehicles to the highest bulk bidder thereof and that bulk bid amount will be added to the individual bid total. Payment shall be made in full at the time of sale by cash or certified check. Take further notice that all vehicles must be removed from the car pound no later than three (3) days after the date of this sale. In the event any such successful bidder fails to remove said vehicles in the time set forth then the purchasing agent may declare the sale of the particular vehicle or vehicles which have not been removed in accordance therewith void and the monies paid by such successful bidders are to be forfeited. The purchasing agent shall reserve the right to withdraw any of the vehicles from the sale. This sale of motor vehicles pursuant to this law bars all claims of interest in said motor vehicles forever except for the purchasers, the purchasing agent for the Jersey City incinerator authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids for vehicles or equipment.
